Malaysian Food in Borneo! The BEST bushcraft chicken and chicken and rice dish! We came to eat STREET FOOD in Malaysia and found ourselves deep in the Borneo jungle, making a famous Dayak dish, the bushcraft chicken and rice dish known as Ayam Pansuh!
We made our way to try the most delicious and unique and relatively UNKNOWN food in the Borneo rainforest.
We originally flew from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching to taste delicious street food. After eating and filming a street food video in Kuching, we decided to head out to the jungle to eat some local Aboriginal Dayak cuisine!
It was so delicious! First, we had to take an adventure jungle hike through the. Borneo rainforest, with all of the amazing plants, animals, birds, and fresh air. We arrived at a waterfall and our guide Sity began preparing the bamboo chicken dish for us. Prior to this, we foraged for all of the local ingredients to make the bamboo chicken.
The ingredients included tapioca, wild ginger, and bamboo. Our guide
Sity prepared the chicken beforehand by marinating it in ginger, garlic, onion, and salt. The recipe she gave was quite simple. After finding all of the ingredients in the jungle, she made it for us bushcraft style by lighting some dead bamboo on fire and roasting it over the fire for about 30 minutes.
We came to Borneo to eat and made a jungle vlog just for you. I (Trevor James, The Food Ranger) and Ting Ting as well as Chuchu, travel to the deep borneo rainforest wilderness in Borneo Malaysia, tasting this amazing dish for you to witness!

Now we know how you eat so much…..the munchies.
Learn from the techniques of how simple it is to survive in the jungle and rain forest if you know how to find food and use simple tools like machete.. Use those hands to learn some basic skills like chopping and cutting, sharpening the knife, using available vegetation around to be able to use them to full advantage, how to start a fire , how to gather firewood.. etc
The Dayak woman is very smart.. She can talk good english thats very understandable.. What a wonderful place to be .
Wild ginger, natural anti cancer herbs and spices. tis all provided by nature but the big pharma mafia conglomerates doesnt want people to know bec they wanted to the gulible public to run to their cancer clinics and get their toxic chemo trreatments which only spread the cancer cells…
