Imagine being trapped in a cage as active comabt rages around you. That’s the terrifying reality for zoo animals living in war zones. Veterinarian Amir Khalil is saving as many as he can. He runs the rapid response unit of the animal rescue organization Four Paws and risks his life rushing into trouble spots around the globe, treating and evacuating shell-shocked, starving and injured animals.

Children of all races, cultures, and religions innately love animals as equals and are attracted to them. That is, until they are corrupted by adults to devalue other animals as "subhuman" and taught to regard other animals as "things," "property," "resources" for political, economic, and religious reasons—these are all the reasons why (but not limited to these only) people come to hate each other, attack each other, etc, because of differences. Being "different" does not make anyone "less than" or "subhuman," and the same goes for how we regard and treat other-than-human animals. They are not "less than" human. That is a discredited belief, not a fact about the real world.
