This has got to be one of the saddest moments of a persons departure ever recorded. The event was the 1973 Dutch grand prix at the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands and the driver was Roger Williamson………………

  1. remember seeing N°2 from a video of the show's audience, when i saw him roll on his back for that inside loop after that REALLY short 45° climb i thought to myself "hnnnnng!!! are you sure about that"

even with a little video game experience one knows that little 45° climb out of a low pass is not high enough for a loop downward… never …..

  2. I'd hardly call the challenger disaster any "death caught on film".

What about some of these people who were filmed dying like Tommy Cooper? Or the senator who committed suicide on live TV?

  3. My uncle died because of a company, he was sweeping the balcony of a tall building, and his safety rope was really old, because the company didn't care about safety after the disaster, and my uncle slipped and fell off 9 stories. Rest his soul.

  4. Coping with death is an important part of life and it should not be censored nor sensationalised. All these deaths resulted in increased awareness of dangers, and nearly all caused significant changes to future safety and preventative measures. We learn from our mistakes. We are here because of the sacrifices of others. Well done for having the bravery to post such a video in the style you have chosen.

  5. 7:43 this motherfucker pulled the ejection seat? What a pathetic worm. I hope he suffers cancer and being kept alive for decades to come by machines while his whole family around dies.

  6. Thank you curious Droid, for bringing this. I love David purly,?, for the efforts and heroism, trying to save his friend, Rodger Willamson.?. the 1973, Dutch Grand Prix, race. and to all the people, that lost their lives, thank you.?‍?????☮

  7. Up until the 80s Formula 1 was such a brutal and deadly sport. Documentaries like "One" capture the tragedy of these days very well.

  8. There is an interview by Jackie Stewart where he says that during the Monaco's Gran Prix the only doctor available was a gynecologist.

  9. the first one pissed me off so much. having to watch your friend die, with people around you that COULD HAVE HELPED but they chose not to.

  10. It's amazing that humans never have the foresight to be proactive about disaster prevention. Something horrible generally has to happen before we clue up and implement appropriate safety measures.

  11. FA Cup semi-finals are always held at a neutral ground. At the time
Liverpool fans were renound for turning up drunk and after kick off time
and trying to get in for free. You cannot show Hillsborough without showing Haysel which happended 4 years earlier on live TV, and was another caused by Liverpool fans. 39 people died, 32 Italian Juventus fans , 4 Belgians, 2 French and one Northern Irish.

  12. I remember that "Challenger" disaster. I was a small kid and it was one of the first rocket launches I have seen.
We should do everything, to avoid such incidents.
