30. The Baby: years ago, I work in an emergency room as a respiratory therapist when an ambulance brought in a toddler whose father had run over its head with his pickup truck. It’s so easy to lose track of the little ones. I met the mother mother and father and they both seemed like very good people to me. Although the baby had tire tracks on the side of its skull, The kid was otherwise fine. The father had to be sedated.

    Here’s the real tragedy: the police forced us to do bloodwork on the father and THC was found in his system. The father swore that he had not smoked any pot for weeks, which is entirely possible. As everyone knows, THC stays in the system because it is stored in fat cells for over six months. The parents of the baby were a wonderful couple that were madly in love. The state of California said that they would take the baby away from them because the father was a drug addict. The only way for them to keep the baby was for the parents to get divorced, and the father as forced to sign a paper saying that he would never have contact with the child ever again. Now that’s a tragedy.

48. Fun fact about the elephant: the white dust was actually a bunch of cocaine. He was lit out of his mind and freaking out.
