The clip from the late 80s, I'm going to say it's a fake. The shadow mass floats around in sync with the camera, making me think it's got something to do with the video.
Ok so the one that takes place in 1989, is a hoax, when you slow down the footage, every move the camera makes the shadow moves with it. No I don’t think it’s a film edit but could be a drop if ink on the lens. The part where the camera is looking at the mirror it pans to the right and the clock that was beside the shadow looked to get covered by it as it panned over. That leads me to believe that the shadow was on the lens itself. If it was actually there, it wouldn’t be moving the way the camera is moving. It might have been done with a vhs but you could still distort the lens back then.
