The first Hammer Dracula film which, according to Leonard Maltin, may indeed be their finest. The infamous vampire (Peter Cushing, Star Wars) is given a new, elegant and ruthless persona as he descends upon England. Christopher Lee is smooth as the Count, and Peter Cushing perfect as the tireless Professor Van Helsing, praises Maltin. This film is credited with single-handedly reviving the horror film genre!

Peter Cushing was the Man he wasn't scared or afraid of shit not even of Dracula. Lee is the greatest Vampire the goat.
You could make dracule prince of darkness
Awesome film.
When I was a kid we went to the neighborhood theater on Saturdays. One horror and one comedy. This was my most favorite Dracula movie ever and no one beats Christopher Lee. Parents had it great on Saturdays.
The hammer films are the best ever hands down. Love this horror movie
So this version of johnathan Harker came to transalvania with a wooden stake?
This came out 19 years before Star Wars, and Peter Cushing looks like he didn't age a day. Who's the real vampire?
I remembered as a kid I saw this for the first time on TV in the 70s and boy the next day at school everyone was talking about it. I creeped every kid at school.
This is the classic! Love it.
While I myself did not find the movie to be "scary" or horrifying, I did enjoy it and the plot was written beautifully.
Christopher Lee. What a wonderful representation of Dracula. Peter Cushing is such a presence.
Christopher Lee is the vampire, not Peter Cushing. Jesus.
Best version of Dracula in my opinion especially the finale!
Christopher Lee as Dracula. Peter Cushing as the vampire hunter.
Fantastic!!
Loved this version with Peter Cushing.
My mother allowed me to view this film, in the mid-1960's on our 1st television (a 19" Zeinith black and white), when I was only eight years old. I'm now almost 60 and clearly remember the absolutely horrified grin Lee gives to expose his fangs and intentions as the prince of darkness. This is gothic horror at its finest and commands the utmost respect.
nearly 60 years later and this is still the best vampire movie out there!
I love Dracula movies, all
