Hurricane Katrina in 2005 was deadly, devastating, expensive, expansive and powerful. Katrina caused misery, and loss of homes and jobs that made it the most expensive hurricane to hit the United States in modern times. It was also one of the most-deadly hurricanes to ever strike the US. More than 1,800 people were killed.
