An examination of the unintended consequences of the Iraqi war with a focus on events at Abu Ghraib prison which began to appear in global media in 2004. The prison quickly became notorious for the shocking photos of the abuse and torture of terror suspects by military men and women. Ultimately, it is the story of soldiers who believed they were defending democracy but found themselves plunged into an unimagined nightmare. © 2008 Sony Pictures Classics Inc. and Participant Media, LLC. 10 years later since this documentary and 17 years after the War on Terror, OIF / OEF, and we still haven't learned our lesson.

krol is a weird dude
So the ones who got legal action against them were the low men on the totem pole? No Higher-ups or Politicians? Why do I not find that shocking?
This is what happens when citizens don't question what the government does in their name, and takes the position that "some" people are deserving of this kind of treatment.
The U.S. foreign policy in Middle Eastern countries has not only cost the tax payers hundreds of billions of dollars, it hasn't made us "safer" from terrorism. In fact, our government – through it's flawed policies – has served to become a rallying cry for a new generation of terrorists.
The blame rests with the American people – we have allowed this to continue. We have forgotten one fundamental truth in our Democracy: The politicians are there to serve the PEOPLE, we are NOT here to serve politicians.
This is fucked in the head!!!
