Bus crashes near Rotorua

There’s reports of several deaths from a bus crash near Rotorua. Early reports suggest six people have died in the crash on State Highway 5 north of Rotorua. It’s believed the bus rolled with around 23 people on board. Five helicopters and three ambulances were sent to the scene just after midday. St John’s Ambulance tweeted it had dealt with 21 people at the scene, several with serious injuries. Police are redirecting traffic to alternative routes and says the road will be closed for a number of hours.
