It’s worth noting that Heath Ledger was impersonating Tom Waits for his role as the Joker
Like to see someone do a Scouse accent
It's just the same
"southern accent" *circles 25% of the US. ….yeah there's not AN accent for the ENTIRE south. it varies. He lost some credibility with that.
Mel Gibson's accent in Braveheart is not and could NEVER be described as pretty good.
Daniel Day-Lewis. 3 oscars, best of all time
Its cahnfamation
Vigho speaks like 7 languages
You definitely have to look at colin firths performance in The Kings Speech
Need to do one episode on Robert Pattinson.
His mustache was perfect.
I thought Tom Cruise sounded like a generic southerner, rather than northern Irish
John Voight segment. Hahahah so funny.
Did he ever do eric bana in blackhawk down. I really thought Bana was american when i saw it
Loved his comment on breakfast at tiffanys
Again I say
No one does Caribbean or African accents well
They butcher them and the native speaker is not allowed to sound authentic
Too much butchering of the Caribbean or African accent
did he at some point comment on Kate Winslet's accent in the Reader?? really curious
Y'know, I was gonna say something about how you can't generalise all English accents down to one, but then I heard the actor and I agree that he doesn't match ANY part of Britain, let alone a part of England.
"The vowel sounds in 'like' and 'hat' go all over the place. Sometimes they're close. Sometimes they're… Tom Cruise"
I used to think Renee Zellweger was actually English after her Bridget Jones performance
Do Mary Queen Of Scotts!
We need more of these
do NOT settle until someone looks at you the way mr. singer looks at Heath Ledger as the Joker.
Wow my man busted out a casual !Xosa reference like no big deal, "yeah i just clicked, thats a distinctive letter, so what? Moving on…" @4:50
That's cus idris elba hungout in Brooklyn barbershops preparing for the wire
He could totally teach choir. I wanna hear him sing.
Swear they arent belfast accents
As an afrikaans person, matt Damon's afrikaans accent wasn't that bad
Tennessee better learn to do Aldo's accent right
best faked british accent ever …James Marsters as Spike
I just see Dennis Reynolds whenever I see this guy.
What about Kevin spacey?
I feel like this guy reminds me of a non-psychotic Dennis (Glenn Howerton)
did tom curse also say burgh the American way rather than the scots/Irish way? possible eEuropeanpean way.
A clean 10/10 on the Xhosa
If I were directing a film that had characters with notable accents, I would be happy to have Erik Singer consulting for us as he sure knows his stuff. This was a very well-done video.
I disagreed with him only once regarding the Bridget Jones performance. I thought he focused too much on the whole lateral plosion thing…its really not very hard to do at all. She had that okay, but fell flat in many other sounds that revealed she wasn't English , particularly in the voice-over spots. Its almost as if she needed to be on set, with onlookers and cameras rolling, to get it right. In general, it was just far too posh and not believable (in my slightly hard-to-impress opinion, having worked in the UK for years). Being American, I was still able to enjoy the film, but most of the English people I knew found her performance cringe-inducing at times. Although hey, after Costner's Robin Hood, she comes out as Oscar material.
And, given her actual origins (Texas) and normal speaking voice, I think that overall her performance was commendable….even though she was clearly overcoached.
