  7. ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE US FROM WHAT IS COMING!

All these things are happening to punish us for our sins and test our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (1Peter 1:6-7). Humans cannot save you. They can only try. Only Jesus can save you. If you put your trust in mere humans (including yourself), you will die. But if you put your trust in Jesus, you will live forever, even if you die (read John 11:25-26).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” (John 3:16-21 ESV) (compare 2Corinthians 4:3-4 and 2Thessalonians 2:1-12)

To believe in the Lord Jesus Christ means you obey Him. This means you must stop sinning and "…Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38) He will teach you, comfort and protect you, and help you trust and obey our Lord Jesus Christ, even in the face of death, so you may receive the crown of life. Your destiny is to become like Jesus (a true child of God). He is our example. God’s plan is to make those He chose like His Son, Jesus, so you can live with Him forever in the Kingdom of Heaven (which is coming to earth soon) and bring Him eternal glory (Romans 8:29). Thank God for His Son, a gift too wonderful for words! (2Corinthians 9:15)
