BOYZ N THE HOOD is the critically acclaimed story of three friends growing up in a South Central Los Angeles neighborhood. It is a place where harmony co-exists with adversity, especially for three young men growing up there: Doughboy (Ice Cube), an unambitious drug dealer; his brother Ricky (Morris Chestnut), a college-bound teenage father; and Ricky’s best friend Tre (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), who aspires to a brighter future beyond “The Hood.” In a world where a trip to the store can end in death, the friends have diverse reactions to their bleak surroundings. Tre’s resolve is strengthened by a strong father (Larry Fishburne)who keeps him on the right track. But the lessons Tre learns are put to the ultimate test when tragedy strikes close to home, and violence seems the only recourse. RIP John Singleton!❤????❤
daaaamn. I served with lots of black people in the Marines so I thought I knew about them but this film really tells the full story. Those black children really need fathers. Any black man that raises his kid is helping humanity and is a saint. It really hit home with the black man that had that binky. Clearly he was given it as a child and because he never had a father, the habit of being stuck with the binky stayed with him his whole life. So sad that so many black babies are tossed to the side and not shown any fatherly guidance.
RIP John Singleton!!!!! Truly ahead of your time. Your a master of your work
Just another ghetto flick promoting criminal ghetto gangster crap as if society didnt already have enough of violance on the streets.
By the way what happened to Singleton recently?..
Should have left a legacy of good movies not dirt bag movies as he did..
RIP singleton
Rest In Peace John Singleton .. a Legendary Director ! Gone Too Soon !
