Brilliant Oklahoma storm chaser Peter Jensen loses his wife in a tornado and leaves his old life behind. Ten years later, he returns to his home town to attend his estranged daughter’s graduation and realizes that there is another storm developing that could destroy the whole region and must save his loved ones before it is too late.

I know this is a movie but actually things like this happen in real life where folks put people lives in jeopardy just to play Big Shot like they know better than anybody else! It just pisses you off to no ends the level of arrogance or should I say stupidity. Thanks for the free movie.

So, his daughter was in the storm shelter, yet not one word explaining how she got killed; would it be so difficult to make sense of the story?

Hurricanes don't normally stay intact this far inland. They usually make landfall as a hurricane and quickly lose steam once they do. In 2007 when Hurricane Erin made landfall in Lamar, Texas she was downgraded to Tropical Storm and hurricane warnings were cancelled after only 3 hours. Unfortunately the weather conditions were just right for the storm to reorganize and pick up speed again. As a result, 6 people in Oklahoma died. This is very rare but not totally unheard of.
This movie is not the best made but the story is way to real for some people.
