  1. When I found out he died I actually started crying. I grew up with this guy and it was like loosing a friend. There never has been nor will there ever be a public figure that would bring the emotion out in me like steve did.

How evil we are to have destroyed their habitats and living.

  5. I remember when I first found out about Steve Irwin, it was in the 2nd or 3rd grade and I had a project to do and we had to do it on someone famous. I didn't know who to do it on, but my teacher knew I loved animals and recommended Steve Irwin. She told me about his tv show and what he did. While I did hear about his show before, I never watched it because as a little boy seeing the title called "The Crocodile Hunter" made me think it was about a man who would kill crocodiles because as a kid, I thought a hunter was someone who killed animals so I didn't know it had a different meaning as well. So I did some research and I fell IN LOVE with it. He became my idol, a figure to look up to. But then I thought to myself, why haven't my parents told me about him, they knew I loved animals and would almost always watch animal planet so why have they never told me about him. Apparently they were big fans of the show as well and then told me the heartbreaking truth, he died in 2006, which meant I was 2 years old or younger. It's really devastating to hear that your Idol is dead, especially when you're 7 years old at the time. It's sad that he is gone and I really miss him, but it's great that he was able to touched the lives of so many people for the time he was here.
