On May 22, 2011 a highly destructive and deadly tornado tore through the city of Joplin, Missouri. Here is video of the tornado entering the southwest side of town, filmed by TornadoVideos.net Basehunters team Colt Forney, Isaac Pato, Kevin Rolfs, and Scott Peake. The team spent hours assisting with search and rescue and transporting victims to local hospitals in personal vehicles.

The monster
I read a book about this
Who Has Read “I Survived” Book When The Boy Had Survived The Joplin Tornado
Scary
Dead Man Walking. Rip to all the souls who lost their lives on this sorrowful May Day.
I have a book of it and it shocked me of how fast and strong it was
Edit:WTF THE TORNADO TURNED INTO A BIG MONSTER SO FAST
I've never seen a wedge tornado form that fast from nothing!
I live in Joplin people only know the damn city because of the tornado
I remember the day it happen. I was being amitted to Neosho Freeman and my brother wouldn't take me to Joplin because he felt something bad was going to happen and my gut was telling me the same thing. My cousin Lonnie Brown was in Joplin storm spotting and lost his car at the Flying Jay truck stop. He was doing the math and knew ahead of time that something big was going to happen but the cops ignored him. If the cops had listened to him then there would be very little people killed. What I don't understand is that country cops refuse to work with the storm spotters. I praise you guys for going out in dangerous grounds to spot these storms and report them. Hugs go to these people.
If only we could trade reed with Tim Samaris.
This loud moron has always been the black eye of the chaser community

The Joplin tornado. The most destructive and costliest tornado of all time. Took the lives of a lot of people. I feel proud for the people who survived that thing. It was huge… good job people.
That formed so quickly!!!
I love tornadoes in all there glory. death destruction. so beautiful. bodies being tossed. people screaming. so enjoyable.
Holy Sh***
I was asleep, and woke up to the sound of "hail" pounding the roof of my 3rd story apartment. My clock said 6:00. I didn't know if it was 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. Looked outside from my balcony, and the sky was a bright orange. I had no idea we had a tornado. I noticed parts of the roof were scattered in the courtyard. I got out my flashlight and opened a book, until my daughter knocked on my door. The tornado missed me by six blocks.
Most rapid intensification I've ever seen. Truly terrifying.
❤️️..Missouri …
It was more like an EF-6, if that tornado wedge formed in like 3 seconds, jumped a few times, and created massive amounts of damage. Somehow, the tornado moved the former St. John's Hospital off its foundation a few inches is rather something.
I was 3 when that happened i think I saw it. It was really freaking scary
And exactly 8 years later Joplin has another tornado…
GOD SENDS THESE INSTRUMENTS OF HIS POWER FOR JUDGMENT/FOR REPENTANCE/FOR MERCY…WHAT WE DO WITH IT, IS THEN, UP TO US…;)
