A huge 86-kilogram mastiff named Floyd had to be rescued whilst out hiking with his owner on Sunday, 13th October.
Floyd and his owner hiked up the Grandeur Peak trail near Salt Lake City but when it came time to get down, Floyd was too tired and refused to budge. Floyd’s owner was unable to carry the gentle giant down the hill.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team was called around 6:30pm local by other hikers who passed Floyd on the trail and saw his owner needed help.
Rescuers arrived and strapped Floyd to a stretcher and carried him down to safety.
