October 6th – Animal Rescue Corps worked with Animal Rescue League and SXM Paws of St. Maarten to rescue nearly 200 homeless animals from the island of St Maarten after Hurricane Irma caused significant damage to 95% of the island’s infrastructure.
ARC coordinated the U.S. based operations of this international rescue effort, dubbed Operation Saints to States, beginning with receiving approximately 200 dogs and cats arriving on a chartered flight to Miami International Airport. ARC transported the animals to ARC’s Rescue Operations Center in Lebanon TN, about 40 minutes east of Nashville, receiving daily care, medical evaluations, and any necessary treatments until moving into ARC’s placement partner network, where each will find a loving home.
