How about a school of silver dollars and 2 tin foil barbs. Silver dollars are the "dither" fish as Joey would say. Tin foil barbs are pigs and grow fast like the catfish. Given the shape o these species they may be hard for the catfish to eat, I think…. Great content today.
A dovii
Excellent advise from IFG. I unfortunately had to give up my beautiful African cichlid tank because I was displaced from my apartment due to an electrical fire, the fire wasn't related to the tank at all, always kept clean surge protectors and twice daily inspections. The fire started up in the ceiling from old electrical wiring through the apartments. The fire traveled extremely fast through the walls and the smoke was very thick! Luckily I was awake when it happened! No fish died and were all rehomed, just a lot of water damage to furniture.
Thanks for the PSA. Something we all need to hear. Gotta protect our necks.
Good advice, man! I had a bad situation once with a space heater and extension cord. Luckily, it didn't involve any tanks and I caught it before it got bad, but the plug to my space heater totally melted… If I didn't catch it when I did, I'm sure there could have been a fire.
Awesome Man, First time I have seen a video on electrical safety around the aquarium!!!
Great advice IFG!!
Community tank with jumbo neon tetras im not sure what the correct name is thats what i call them. YOUR WATCHING IFG????
Good safety advice ??✌️
Great points. People spend tons of time with water changes and tank maintenance, but spend no time on preventing electrical disasters
Keeping it real with IFG!!!!
I think you should put pea puffers in that tank
Another Texas ciclid something toward that magnitude you dig!
IFG Rocks
Iv all ways worried about this so I plug the heather out most nights and the fish are grand so it's all gravy
Great info. I took some losses last winter all the heaters flipping breakers? but rewired the garage and shop
Name that fish homer his belly man ?? I know whatever you do with the tank it'll be epic ✌?
????????
Get another fish like Thanos. He was a cool dude
as room air gets colder I need to keep the door shut and turn on an electric oil space heater because I have drafty windows. Both my 15 watt heaters in two separate tanks are filled with moisture droplets inside how risky is this?
Absolutely vital information! TFS?
Love your videos
Some Vieja argentea would look nice!
I got a cory cat like that, ate all the duck weed, and most of the baby guppies.
I get weird vibes from that predatory dude
Braddah u need Thanos 2.0 ?????
Cichlid aquarium
Thanks IFG for making a video that ties in safety to our hobby. Overloaded circuits are a huge concern. As a first responder, I've seen plenty of electrical fires due to overloaded outlets and surge protectors. A common misconception is that surge protectors will trip when overloaded. They are actually designed to protect equipment from spikes in voltage, not protect from spikes in amperage draw. Keep up the great videos!
Very informative video mah brotha!!
You should do a live Q&A my g
My heater just blew up the other day
Use a sump
Planted tank with some discus in that tank?
I appreciate this vid my brother! Even tho I don't have a trillion cords stuck into one surge protector. Sleeping with a heater on in aquarium never set well with me. Especially when sleep. During winter when it gets cold is the only time I run one. Just like you mentioned about the heaters without a dial. This happened a hot min ago. Had one in a ten gallon acrylic aquarium. I heard a boom in the middle of the night! Got outta bed to check my perimeters. Didn't No where it came from. Something told me to check the tank. Heater exploded but thank God the tank was still intact ?? My little pair of Convicts were still swimming around like nothing never happen. It was a mess tho! Gotta be careful with heaters and rats nest?⚜️?
This is a great, informative video!!
Man how do you always get the OG’s in your intro?
all any fishkeep has to do is not use junk lamp ext cords if your going to use an ext cord make sure its a heavy duty a 16AWG or lower number
Thanks for the advice bro ! I have 9 aquariums in my fish room for now and I never thought about the wall plugs with integrated breakers ! I'm going to change all that tomorrow for sure ! Seriously thank you I live in Chateauguay Quebec ! RESPECT BRO AND THANK YOU !
