I heard a thud followed by a bunch of strange screaming. A baby raccoon fell out the window of the building they were nesting in. The mother keeps traveling between the two crying babies, while looking for a way to bring the fallen one back up. The racoon in the building was more freaked out, they couldn’t see their sibling.The situation lasted about 45 minutes, the mother went between the two screaming babies many more times, but I cut out for times sake.

The baby might have broken or fractured a leg or arm and not been able to climb back up thats what it looks like which is why the mom had to carry him in her mouth

Mother raccoons are rigid disciplinarians. Pretty much the same as bears in that they will go into dangerous situations but they will keep their young ones from following them. People think that because they eat food that you give them but won't let their babies do it is because they're being greedy but it's not that at al. The l mother maybe nursing the baby still or doesn't quite trust the food that you're giving her to be good for them and she doesn't want them to get used to people. There are several reasons
But this situation these babies got themselves into I'm very surprised but I guess it happened by accident.
I lived in Wisconsin as a child and we often used to find raccoons and play with them and keep them as pets without our parents knowing. And then one of my friends got rabies and she died. If she had told her parents about the raccoon instead of being afraid because they would be mad at her she said nothing and neither did the rest of us. So I instructed my children never ever to befriend an animal in the wild but if they did to let me know because all this raccoon did was scratch my friend and it wasn't even acting rabid. So this is more of a cautionary tale tell your kids this is not a very pleasant way to die and they will die if they are not honest about finding wild animals and handling them. Of course we wanna teach our children that animals are also Gods gift but safety first
