Tiny spy cameras allow you to see some of the world’s most magnificent birds in flight. Watch this video to learn how the fastest bird on the planet, the peregrine falcon, keeps control at mind-numbing speeds, and take a flight with the master of manoeuvrability, the Gos Hawk, as it flies through dense woodland. Great animal video from BBC wildlife show Animal Camera, with music by Gregory Paul.

  1. That camera is causing drag. Take a lesson from F1 cameras, Lads. Refine an aerodynamic camera to minimize drag so she can fly as fast as she is supposed to and it will cause her to have to use less energy.

  2. flight maneuver precision at that speed? oh what i would give to be able to shrink down one of those $150k red cameras without compromising quality so i can mount it onto a goshawk. The 8k video output would be nothing short of a video editor's dream.

  3. They are the creatures of the sky, perfected through millions of years of evaluation to manipulate the wind in their favor. Every bone and feather is the essens of aerodynamics. I believe It's beyond our intelligence to ever create a better flying machine. But we have come far with maneuverable planes like Sukhoi Su-30MKI and Lockheed Martin Boeing F-22 Raptor and a quick one like SR-71 Blackbird. Compared to size and weight of course.

  4. peregrine are only fast when plummetting to the ground, it's extremely slow in level flight

ducks, snipe and homing pigeons are much much faster in straight flight…basically all birds with high wing loading and strong pectoralis muscles, elliptical wings basically
