This video takes the time to respond to fears people have expressed about traveling alone because of the threat of strangers. I use the story of what happened to me in Death Valley to show that most people are, in fact, just like you and me. Friendly, kind, and willing to help in times of need. Please also check out my blog post about Death Valley for more photos! https://vanmeetsworld.wordpress.com/2016/11/03/the-death-valley-debacle/

  1. People are great when you are a young, attractive female. They fall all over themselves to help you. A dude in the same situation would have a totally different experience. That CHP guy wouldn't have hung out with me…lol! No, he'd tell me I had 72 hours to get my piece of shit rig off that road.

  2. I did this back in '89' for a year then went to Guam. I'm in Idaho now about to get a new van and will have 3-100 watt panels and 4 AGM batteries. I already have the rest of the system. A passive hot water system will be a great help. I plan the spend the rest of my life on the road. What Me Worry?

  3. wow I'm sure you learned from this experience to just take the time to get the RIGHT parts. .for any repairs. always do it right the first time and it can save money and time and inconvenience. .Glad to see your videos on your return HOME.. Congratulations on the adventure. They all come with ups and downs. . Never give up. .

  4. great story of your travel and car problems. reminds me I need to see if I even have roadside assistance for my box van I'm working on to travel with lol. not having to pay tow twice is a big plus.
