1. Why on earth do people call hyenas ugly? They don't look that different from any number of domestic dogs that people think are cuddly and wonderful. (Yes, I know the hyena is not related to the dog at all, that it is closer to the cat [that is, it is a feliform rather than a caniform carnivore] but it sure does look like a dog) I think it must have more to do with the associations people have with it than their actual looks.
   OK, so their long neck is ungainly. That just makes it awkward-looking.

2. wow, great footage. This is amazing, spotted hyenas are huge deadly animals.
