Residents in the drought-stricken town of Upington in the Northern Cape, finally received some much-needed respite in the form of a thunderstorm.
Although the town experienced flash flooding, caused by the pouring rain, most residents seemed pleased and took to social media posting images and videos of the water. Others took time out, to take a swim.
One Upington resident, Anson van Wyk, told News24 that the storm was a welcome sight and that people had been enjoying themselves, despite the flooding.
