I also had a Freddy like that. Freddy was free, always outside. Has brought ticks without end. I fetched three times from animal shelter. Trigger 100 € each time … Once girls from the neighborhood wanted to keep, I gave. Large cage outside, escape-proof … Two weeks, then broken out:) … Ferret does what wants, but never what people want – freedom …

The ferrets bred from the Waldiltis (Mustela putorius) are predators and are perfectly equipped by nature for hunting rodents. It is precisely for this reason that people have been holding ferrets as pets for thousands of years. Keeping ferrets together with potential prey is about as useful as a tiger in a sheep pen.

She has two of the most prey driven animals in a room with two different types of it's primary prey… But that poor ferret will be considered the bad guy here.

These animals shouldn't be in smelling distance of each other. Ferrets are meant to act this way, it's not his fault. Other animals know to fear the smell of the ferret too, especially the prairie dogs. Introducing an animal to also terrify the ferret is a terrible idea.
