This is the heart-touching moment 156 dogs are set free from an animal testing facility.

The dogs, aged between two and five-years-old, were born and bred in the lab in Bangalore, India and had allegedly never seen sunlight.

Animal activists from Compassion Unlimited Plus Action, an Indian NGO who care for mistreated animals, helped secure the dogs release. They say the pooches were kept in small cages and given minimal food at irregular breaks. They also said that the dogs were kept in the dark.

But the Beagles’ lives were changed overnight on May 16th when the government turned down the laboratory’s plea to use them for experiments and asked them to set the dogs free.

  1. What kind of research or testing were they going to use them for? And why beagles?? What in the hell?? Someday they will be avenged, "Beagles Assemble!".. The only research I'd use them for is how much fun I could possibly have before loosing my mind.

  2. I work at a toxicology research lab. We work with beagles. I would hardly call them dogs. They have been so inbred to make them docile that they lack every quality that I think dogs have. Even dogs from breeding facilities, before they are even tested on act like that. They would make a shitty and depressing pets.

  3. Poor dogs, so glad they were rescued. Animal testing may be necessary, but I fail to see the reason why dogs should be the victim. Aren't there too many rats or pigeons in India? Oh, I forgot….they worship the rats! Maybe they should direct their worship on dogs instead because dogs can save lives but rats can't!!! Idiots!

  4. Oh my goodness! I love how that one beagle was afraid to get out of the cage because it warms my heart to know that it will eventually wander around in a safe area without being tortured!

  5. And the UK government has recently approved an application and issued a licence for a few animal testing facility primarily for testing on Beagles but also other animals.

The company is called B & K Universal.
