In this video:
Heroes come in many forms; some are even furry and four-legged. Due in part to their superior ability to sniff and hear trouble, dogs have long been a fantastic ally and a great protector of humans. After all, it was Lassie who, through a series of barks, told the grown-ups that Timmy was in trouble again (Note: Timmy never actually fell down a well. Mineshaft, sure, but no well.)

I wish dogs could live with At least 20 years minimum
Today I Found Out that i really love dogs.
The fact that all these dogs have long since passed on makes this the saddest video on the channel.
Man I bet that German spy that Stubby found was pissed off lmao
Dogs are the best….
The bonus fact should have been about the brave pigs and chickens that were served to the military.
All damn good dawgs!!!
now lets see top cats who are war heroe…………. oh thats right
I had heard of the sniffer dogs on 9/11 but i had never heard of the Seeing Eye dogs thats so cool and what good doggos all these puppers were. Judy makes me cry especially hearing she was willfully beaten.
20 dog hating curs gave a thumbs down…. most likely cat lovers.
My grandfather, trained dogs, for the Army as a soldier in WWII. He always said they were the best companions, & had a Shepard by his side, right up to the day he died.
Fighting northward from Algeria, through Africa, Sicily, Italy, and eventually to Eastern Europe, where he helped free a Concentration Camp, earned a Purple Heart he refused to accept, and carried shrapnel in his body the rest of his life, my grandfather was a hardened man, but he always owned rescued dogs, and usually had more than one at a time.
The only time I saw that man shed a tear, was when one of his dogs died. He lovingly buried each one in his back yard.
RIP! rip
I like your shows they are very informative and entertaining so I subscribed but I didn't tick the bell icon 🙂
Who could possibly give a thumbs down to dog stories! DOG HATERS GERRRRR!! If they can't make room in Heaven for my four legged friends…then they needn't bother making room for me!!!
They're all on a farm now.
should do a video on why humans are quick to put animals to sleep but will try any and everything to nurse a human back to full health, im convinced some dogs could live longer if humans werent so quick to pull the plug
Dammit, who's chopping onions on YouTube again???
4:10 RIP, Rip.
Damn. You Simon. You made my allergies act up.
I am not surprised that a dog can tell the difference between the different sounds of motors. My first dog Tequila was given treats by the UPS delivery man quite often. We were in another city and he ran out to see the UPS van when he heard it.The man in the van looked terrified and I had to explain he was looking for a treat.Tequila was probably an Akita/Sheppard mix and about 65 pounds.UPS Van's have the same motor sound.
When visiting Edinburgh Castle I found most moving the cemetery for regimental pets and mascots.
what do they get for that? mineral biscuits?
It is the Smithsonian Institution, not Institute.
I suppose they could be called "The Dogs of War."
Seventeen people have no heart.
If only humans treated humans like dogs treat humans.
This is my favorite video ever, and I’ve watched over 8k hours of video on this website
Omg that last story.. I’m not crying you are…!!!
You painted a wonderful picture talking about gunnar’s rambunctious grand puppies ??
This is one of the GREATEST videos of TIFO I've ever seen!
Been awhile loving the beard.
Why does the audio sound strange in this video?
That's not Timmy in the picture of Lassie. That's Jeff. Jeff was Lassie's original owner. When he got too old for the series, they wrote in a story where Jeff went off to veterinary college and gave Lassie to his younger friend Timmy. So far as I remember, Jeff never fell down a well either.
Me: I've finally watched every single Simon Whistler Vi-
Simon: I do have another channel…
Me: SON OF A BITCH!
I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying?
Were they born dogs? Yes!
Was their mothers a dog? Yes!
So they didn't happen to be dogs. They were dogs all along.
Another famous war dog soon to be forgotten is rin tin tin, who went on to save a failing movies studio (mgm i believe), sadly none of his films exist anymore as the reels were destroyed in a fire.
If your hands were tied, could you still talk
Silly of me, but since I hadn't heard of the Dickin Medal for Bravery, I thought it was spelled "Dickon" and came from the book The Secret Garden because Dickon in the book had an affinity for animals, lol! But no, it seems it was named for Maria Dickin who had a veterinary charity, which is lovely.
They know no fear when things really matter. They’re loyalty knows no bounds. It’s amazing things they do for us compared to what little they are given in return. Gladly risking their lives for a simple belly rub or a treat. They stand beside us in all things. I love all animals but none more than dogs. Rest in peace to all these heroes.
