When the world turns white, the wildlife comes out to play. This film captures the cute reactions of animals to snowfall. Watch as a weasel discovers frost for the first time, testing the cold with its paws, whilst a white stoat, delighted with the sensation, somersaults on the ice. For many creatures, a freeze-over means a fight for survival, but surprisingly, they usually greet its arrival with playfulness and just enjoy the fun. As an artist, whenever it snows I grab my camera and head outdoors to see what wildlife I can find – and I’ve discovered that whilst some creatures retreat to curl up somewhere warm, others respond with excitement. And some even get romantic: watch this film to see hares courting in bitterly cold winds and kestrels kiss in blizzards.
