  1. Thanks SO MUCH now i can train my dog to love me your a life saver I SHOULD of KNOWN that causing stress and anxiety is the best way to train a dog

  2. I would love to adopt DJ but I live far away! He's somewhere in New York and I'm/we're about 30 minutes away from New Orleans in Louisiana. My kids dad even speaks American sign language and could train and teach DJ and me and our kids too! But how or is it even possible for out of state adoptions, how to begin if so?!

  3. DJ is absolutely adorable!!! I have two small dogs who are 11 and 10 years old, a Rat Terrier and a Rat Terrier mix. Older dogs are not really much more work and in fact I think younger dogs and puppies are much more troublesome. But I love all dogs, old and young, big and small, mixed breeds and pure breeds!!! I like this old fellow DJ and I would adopt him in a heartbeat!!!

  4. He's a dog, dogs bark sometimes. Are people such snowflakes nowadays that a dog barking occasionally is too much for them to deal with? Sure, you don't want an incessant barker, but that only happens when something is upsetting the dog, like when idiots tie them up outside instead of keeping them inside.

DJ seems like a nice boy, if we were over there we would take him in a second. We have two dogs and decided a while back that when they are gone we will replace them with senior/disabled dogs.

  5. Oh he's sooo sweet! Please please someone who lives close and have enough love and a little room please adopt him! The most he needs is LOVE! Someone who can dedicate some time to spend with him, take care of his basic and special needs, bust mostly someone who can love him <3.

  6. I am the proud parent of a deaf dog (& 3 others pups & 1 cat-.we also recently lost a 17yo JR & a 19yo inherited cat). She was returned as puppy when it was discovered she was deaf…adopters were scared by worst case scenarios.
I gladly took her back. Its been 3 years and she has been the light of my home. Adorable, inquistive, smart loving- just like any pup. She's never once snapped and is eager for any experience. I had to adjust my training and commands to hand signals- that is it. The entire pack has benefited from this. I have more control as they all look to my hands if I don't speak. She is the same in everyway- barks (though she sounds more like a seal) at deer, goes for walks/hikes, interacts with other people/pets,has great manners, is occasionally mischievous & enjoys life to the fullest. I swear she is pyschic and utterly in tune with us all. She has amazed me & gives me hope in so many ways. We are way better pet parents for having her in our life. She is absolutely the heart in this home.
Don't get me started on seniors- they are amazing in their own right. Generally more compliant and calm, they bring balance, grace and utter devotion. No matter what their background.
I once has received a 10 yro JR that was one step from euthansia-because she was biting, she was anxiety ridden and fearful of everything. She written off as hopeless. The owners were good people- just made A LOT of mistakes… which over time I had to reverse. She was our toughest case, but with firm love, consistancy and showing her a different way to respond- she became a "real" dog…..proving …..Old dogs CAN learn new tricks.
When people restrict themselves from this kind of love just from fear of the unknown- they also restrict themselves from a love & and experience that will utterly change their lives & make them better people.
These amazing souls has been some of the greatest teachers…..

  7. Geez, I’m getting older, i hope nobody ties me to a pole. I just lost my two seniors, a year apart from each other, Scooby was 18, while Gigi, whom I just lost last week, was 15. I love a senior dog, they are already “who” they are going to be. They are a joy to be around, because they are out of that puppy phase that can be destructive. If someone wants to drive him to MI, I will foster (adopt) him for the rest of his life, and give him hugs and kisses every day. I like a dog who talks back, always did! Scooby was a back-talker. Had an opinion about everything. Nothing wrong with that. I just can’t drive that far, and I’m sure the organization wouldn’t like to drive him out. I sure hope somebody sees that wonderful face and personality, and takes him.
