Just twenty minutes from touching down in Hong Kong from Indonesia, a sudden engine malfunction transforms an airbus A330 into a 200-ton glider. The plane appears destined to ditch into the South China Sea unless the captain can come up with a better plan. Miraculously, he does. Witness the emergency landing of Cathay Pacific Flight 780, and hear from the pilots and crew who somehow found a way to beat the odds and save the lives of all 322 people on board. #airdisasters #planecrash

Attention All Passengers!
Any of y'all got any jumper cables?!?!
Ironically the lead pilot’s last name is waters. It’s was salt water contamination that caused the problem.
THAT'S NICE THAT THEY GOT THE HIGHEST AWARD, THE ''POLARIS AWARD'' WHICH THEY SO RICHLY DESERVE, I'M HOPING THAT IT CAME WITH A PILE OF GIFTS FOR ALL THOSE LIVES THAT THEY SAVED AND FOR AN AIRCRAFT THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO LAND SAFELY WITH VERY MINIMAL DAMAGE AND I AM REALLY HOPING THAT INCLUDED A GOOD SIZE AMOUNT OF $MONETARY$ — AWARD — AND A NICE 3 MONTH LONG VACATION TO START WITH AND AN EXTRA 6 MONTHS JUST TO GET RE-SETTLED IN AFTER GETTING HOME FROM THEIR VACATION.
THESE GUYS ARE HEROES, AFTER AND FOR WHAT THEY DID AND WENT THROUGH. I WOULDN'T WANT TO HOLD ANYTHING BACK AS AN EXPRESSION OF THANKS AND A THANK YOU TO BOTH OF THEM. THOSE — WHITE KNUCKLE — MOMENTS I DON'T WISH ANYONE TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH, BUT THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPEN AND WHEN THEY DO THANK GOD FOR A PILOT AND CO-PILOT LIKE THOSE TWO, WHO WERE ABLE TO TROUBLE-SHOOT AND FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO TO SAFELY LAND THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO CASUALTIES AND MINIMAL DAMAGE; THAT IS – SPECTACULARLY AMAZING !!!!!
sir we've received a pan
THIS IS AN AVENGERS LEVEL THREAT
can’t go to hong kong now ?
Thank God for this resolution.
I was thinking either water in the fuel tank…or a potato shoved in the exhaust.
The captain kinda looks like John cena!
Is this real thing
???????????????
0:42 the face I have in math class???
OK thats great. At 74% or just a bit better, the engines start shaking and knocking. Try it again, and maybe the engine will reduce itself to throttle again. I guess there wasn't time to try just anything he could considering he had a mile to go.
Just imagine how many flights you’ve been on that were on the brink of real danger that was corrected by the pilots hiding what’s wrong and keeping everyone safe and sound just imagine
Thank god the camera crew survived
Wow quite surprising.. So were all other planes used that fuel tank got checked out at that times?
Fair has nothing to do with it !
cant they just press the fire button on engine 1 or use the spoilers
If the engine and the other engine got off then how did the plane not stall?
real hero pilots
china has the worse luck with so many tragedies what is up with that?
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha that edited smoke is so BS. If an engine doesn't get the amount of fuel it needs it wouldn't start smoking lol what
“Thank you for flying South Air Pacific.”
7 seconds later… * ENGIN FAILURE*
Goes back to something my flight instructor taught me. Never give up. Great job!
Great acting! It’s always better when you see interviews of the actual captains and crew. It means at least some people survived.
Federation of Air Pilots…. so FAP gave the award. Oh boy….
They’ve earned it!! They are true heroes!! Nobody could have done it any better!! I’d be in good hands if they were piloting a plane I was traveling on!!
The malcom dude looks like james cordon
How is it not fair
so a little bit of salt water almost killed 300 people. good job to the pilots who got the plane down.
Why didn’t he just turn off the Engine?
The best episodes are where no one dies.
