5. Common sense says the deer are suffering a neurological disease of the brain, and the earth is rudely belching up sinkholes 'cause it will do that. A completely crazy explanation is the aliens couldn't figure out where intelligent life was so they took over deer brains, and all the new satellites in space are shooting lazers to make holes in the ground for the fun of it.
