  1. Few years back…. it was a major disaster… when Levees broke n large areas of land became flooded from chico to sacramento past stockton… tracy n manteca where flooded too

  2. “The foolish man built his house upon the sand. The rains came down and the floods came up. And the house on the sand washed away.” Sand… seriously?

  3. How come such fanciful but impractical minded eager beavers are allowed to build cities on lands that are geologically unstable and highly subjected to weather related disasters, as those so tragically depicted here?

Another thing, when recklessly and capriciously planned cities are constructed, notwithstanding better advice to the contrary, in such chronically unstable regions, despite constant and timely reminders of potential impending doom, inevitably one day the worst will occur.

At that juncture, politicians will then start scrambling and deflecting accusations of personal culpability, as they feverishly plan their exodus.

With all the desperate hand wringing that follows among those paper town fathers and aldermen who remain and are now under the bright lights in the news media, is the scenario that supersedes all others and that is the relentless but totally futile efforts on the part of every possible agency under the sun employed to stem the damage as far as they can.

The figurative old story about closing the barn door after the horse had run away!

  4. I live in Sacramento CA they have done a lot of work at Folsom dam and the levees and have setup new systems so it would not be as nearly has bad as they were showing by the way the stuff like saying time is running out isn't true right after this California had it's worst drought and unlike new Orleans Sacramento does not get hurricanes all we get is rain

  5. It would seem the commentator for Kitchen Nightmares (a Gordon Ramsay show for those unfamiliar) got a job commentating on the History Channel. Quite frankly, the history channel went down hill after they stopped airing documentaries about history. Although, I don't mind this type of content. I do mind the reality shows but I guess money is more important than educating the American people on true historical fact.

  6. Fema predicted three major disasters (one is still coming) a bad hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico (Katrina) and a terrorsist attack in New York (9/11) (I think it was made after the bombing in the wtc basement I think.) the 1993 bomb was a wakeup call. The one that is still coming is this one

  7. Rain in California? Lol. Have they actually lived here? It hasn't actually rained, liked real rain for more than a few hours, in like 20 years.

  8. 31:24 is it just me or does that make no sense? If they added 10 feet of dirt, how would the basement become the first floor ? Wouldn’t the first floor become the basement ?

  9. I lived through two "100 year floods" in Sacramento: 1986 and 1997. Most people will never even live long enough to see one. Now living in SoCal I just worry about earthquakes and wildfires.

  10. I'm not real sure any of those levees or dams can handle the mega flood when it comes. How can anyone design something to hold back multiple Mississippi rivers getting dumped non stop for 43 days etc? I really don't think there is much people can do but evacuate when the ARkStorms come..the floods are already overdue and normally follow a long drought historically…

  11. A lot of states need a hose aimed at them and given a good bath.?I think many state governments have already shut down, not to mention city governments .As for New Orleans the people were warned again and again. They chose to stay so they brought it on themselves then they whined, cried for help even though they chose to stay? Well if the levees were built for a category 3 and it was a 5 of course it will flood they broke because the state and city governments didn't want to pay for stronger levees .?

  12. The gradual destruction of the miles and miles of wetlands around New Orleans are part of the problem there. They offered a great deal of protection for the city for years but big business is gradually destroying them. The city is at the mercy of the Gulf of Mexico.

  13. Man I hate these assumption/ hypothetical type episodes! They just have a eerie sense, almost like these are warning/cautionary tales about what’s actually going to happen!
    God forbid!
    ?????

  14. You would think the people of California would have learned something about Katrina and what happened in New Orleans. If the people of California do not change their actions when it comes to levies, the people of California will have their own Katrina. I hope my parents, who live on the coast line, do not live to see this happen. There is that saying of "the foolish man builds his house upon the sand."

  15. I live in Sacramento… There's also alot of homeless ppl who camp on the levees and they dig deep holes so they can light a fire and burn the plastic off copper wires so they can get their dope. This weakens the levees. This is a huge problem.

  16. When will WE THE PEOPLE realize the Republican Party was taken over by Neo-Cons, Zionists???? It’s astounding to me not a peep!? Just because it’s not Obama, Hillary, Pelosi ….. WAKE UP! People more concerned with their ‘party’ the MAGA movement!! Yes, I was once one of you but seriously I have a brain, watch, listen….. unite against the EVIL that has been cast upon us! Snap out of the SPELL that has been cast upon you, America is our concern, the Constitution, which IS NOT being upheld! We should not care if it’s a Dem, Republican, we should be calling out evil as we see it!!!! Trumps promise to RUSH the vaccine and use the military should have blown you away, but NO……. our own people ( military) to distribute it is HORRIFIC!!! RED FLAG trumpets! We need to BUCK our party and call out evil. Do not put your party first put America first!!!!
