Even though there is no scientific evidence that ghosts exist, you may not be crazy if you see one.

48% of Americans profess to believe in ghosts, and around a quarter say that they’ve actually seen a ghost before. I wanted to find out if there was any proof of their existence, so I spoke with Joe Nickell, allegedly the world’s only paranormal investigator who had researched reported hauntings for almost 50 years.

He says that he’s never seen any evidence that would point towards the existence of ghosts. Nickell walks us through the various scientific explanations for why people think they see ghosts, including sleep paralysis, waking dreams, traumatic grief, and exposure to infrasound.

So even though there may be no evidence that ghosts exist, that doesn’t mean that you might not see one.

  1. When I was watching a YouTube video my Siri came on and I didn’t even hold in my button and my cat was chasing something it wasn’t a fly or any type of bug

  2. I’ve had sleep paralysis. It’s pretty scary. I’ve seen unknown figures while completely awake. Something? Nothing? Never saw my late husband or anyone else I could identify.

  3. "8% of people experience sleep paralysis in their lifetime" eight? i had mine when i was in 1st grade bruh, what?? i thought it was way more common

  4. I don't know if it counts as ghosts but I have on several occasions witnessed with my parents, two siblings and other guests what sounded like a person walking around on the second floor in my childhood home. It would happen at all times of the day and at times it was really loud. At one instance I remember my mom asking my dad while we were having dinner if my brother was home because she thought he was out and my dad called out for him and went upstairs to get him but no one was there. My grandpa also mistook the footsteps for my dad while renovating the house before moving in. We never saw anything and it never seemed scary but it was just weird.

  5. I live alone, in a old house which belonged to my great-uncle who died alone in the bedroom I sleep in, my aunt found him in the morning when she was bringing his breakfast. I've never had a single weird experience living in here.

  6. You have to define what a ghost is, and nobody knows. People normally say it's someone back from the dead, but obviously that is merely a theory. It's a phenomenon which isn't understood. If it's question of whether people are intentionally all just making it up then I don't believe everyone is doing that. It still needs an explanation whether to do with the mind or other phenomena.

  7. if ghosts are considered dead humans then where are the animal ghosts?

  8. I am sorry, but can’t people notice the lack of logic in the video?? Just because “science can’t explain” doesn’t mean something doesn’t exist. Science can’t explain why a bycicle balance or why ice is slippery. The main factor behind science is the ability to observe or perceive certain phenomena in the physical universe. If someone goes in an haunted house and perceive a ghost, what tell that it is an hallucinations? Just because we don’t have instruments or methods currently to measure them. Yes hallucinations do exist but a good majority of people has a great awareness of reality. Man has been aware of his spiritual nature for much longer than he has believe “to be a piece of meat”. Just because someone body is sick or crippled doesn’t make you more sad or apathetic. Why people would be so scare and debate about the existence of something when has been perceived and known by multiple people for countless ages is a bit baffling. Is it really that hard to be aware that you are a spiritual being? Is society really that materialistic and blind that everything has to be related to some physics or chemistry in the brain?

  9. Yall should check out the inforgraghics video on " proof that the after life exists"

It talked about how even after our hearts stops there's proof that there is still activity in the brain even after several days of the heart stopping

The rest check it out for yourselves cause it simply can't be satisfactory explained in this one comment

  10. After having heard what was said at 5:10, I feel like the concept of ghosts may also serve as a coping mechanism for humans; seeing something that's not there anymore. It can be comforting for some, just like what was said by Oliver Sacks right before the timestamp I that I put.
