Yusup Pochana (ยูซุปโภชนา) is located about 15 minutes north of the Chatuchak area of Bangkok, so it’s a little out of the way… but let me tell you that it’s well worth the effort to eat there. This, in my opinion, is one of the best restaurants in Bangkok that serves Thai Muslim Halal food. The menu includes many of the classic Thai Muslim dishes like Thai biryani, goat curries, rotis, curry noodles, and an assortment of other amazing things.
When I sat down at Yusup Pochana (ยูซุปโภชนา) I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. First things first, we began with a Mataba pla (มะตะบะปลา), which is basically a roti pancake filled with a mixture of egg, fish, and spices, then fried in hot oil until golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside. The mataba is then sliced into bite sized pieces and eaten along with a sauce that includes cucumber and red onions in a sweet vinegar.
But the most popular dish at Yusup Pochana (ยูซุปโภชนา), and a well known Thai Muslim Halal favorite, is the khao mok, or the Thai style of rice biryani. There are a number of different choices when it comes to Thai biryani, and we order the beef, mutton, and chicken versions. The rice came in a huge pile on the plate, a pile of yellow spiced rice with a hunk of meat hiding below, all topped with fried shallots and served with a minty fresh sauce on the side. All three versions were amazing, but I’d have to give it up for the Khao mok neua (biryani with beef ข้าวหมกเนื้อ). It came with an impressive hunk of beef topped with a mound of rice, and that beef was fall apart tender.
At Yusup Pochana (ยูซุปโภชนา) we also ordered a number of soups and noodles, like the Kuay teow kaeng gai (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแกงไก่), curry noodles with chicken, and the Soup neua (ซุปเนื้อ) — Thai beef soup. Both were pretty good, but the curry noodles were a little on the sweet side for me. The beef soup on the other hand was outstanding, with huge chunks of beef and fragrant broth. But even the Thai biryani could not stand up to the next few dishes I ordered, the Kaeng kari gai (กะหรี่ไก่) or yellow chicken curry, and the award winner of the meal, the Kuruma peh (กุรุหม่าแพะ), or curried goat. I can honestly say it was one of the top Thai dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life. It was a blend of cuisines, sort of a mixture of Thailand, Indian, and Burmese flavors, all wrapped into a hunk of fall apart tender goat on the bone. I honestly could hardly believe myself as I took a bite of the goat curry, it was absolutely sensational!
If you’re looking for an amazing Thai Muslim Halal food restaurant in Bangkok, Yusup Pochana (ยูซุปโภชนา) is your place to go. It may be a bit of a taxi ride from where you are, but once you taste the food, you’ll be amazed, and you might even come back the next day for another meal!

Like Halal food in Bangkok.
It appears to be Bangkok Muslim cuisine ( of Heavy Indian ( Mughal ) influence rather than South Thai Muslim which is more Malay Cuisine influence
