5. These aren't "climate disasters", they are WEATHER disasters, and they have always happened. They keep FEELING worse to humans because we keep building more stuff and housing more people in vulnerable areas, and we have instant global media to show off all the horror stories – which makes everyone cry "DO SOMETHING!!" about it all. And politicians who say "Sorry, we can't" get voted out of office, so those with insane, unworkable plans get voted IN. So things are being done – totally useless things. When they don't work, the politicians will just yell "we need more funding!", and "if it hadn't been for what we've done, things would be even worse!". But the truth is that not much is going on, not much WILL go on, and that trying to do anything REAL about it would collapse our global economy anyway, with FAR worse consequences. We are already well on our way to self-destruction via business and politics as usually, no need to toss the trivial climate problems into the mix.
