One night for dinner in Taipei, we went to a restuarant called 忠南飯館. I wasn’t really sure what to order, but luckily the owner of the restaurant was really friendly, and with the help of some photographs on Foursquare and with the suggestions of the owner, we were able to order a delicious spread of food.
Everything we ordered was really good, and I especially enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the place, paired with the delicious food.
I found this restaurant on Foursquare orginally: https://foursquare.com/v/%E5%BF%A0%E5%8D%97%E9%A3%AF%E9%A4%A8/4bfdf5acf7c82d7fa3058f04

Santa, leave some of the “goodies” for Ying.

I want the tofu recipe. I would add mushrooms to it.
來高雄開
The Chinese food is more famous and representative than Taiwan food, why don’t you come to China?
welcome to China????
i could take you to better places in taipei.
Did anyone else catch the two older guys fighting to pay the bill @3:54 ? While the other guy was getting money out of his wallet, the other guy snuck in and payed the bill and even showed off his super fast, matrix-like blocking skills! LOL! One of my favorite things to do in video like these, is to watch the people in the background, especially in busy places like these…Just so much going on, and no matter how many times you re-watch a video, you can always find some new moment you never noticed before!
Expensive meal for two persons… Pickled mustard is lobak jerok..
uh-uh, no Mark, nooooooooooo! That {UN}healthy fried bread sandwich with that heavy white creamy sauce in it COULD POSSIBLY taste delicious, but ……! I'm sure it can't be healthy. All I see is oil running down your fingers when you hold it. It's the first time I've ever heard you mention an item that "was not your personal fave" [how tactful and diplomatic…and I appreciate the kind honesty]. Looking at it was definitely not my personal fave either!
God, how slim you are.. are you eating anything..hahaha.. And why you always laughing, maybe smoke weed?? Hahaha
I am having some pork and cabbage at my local china restaurant next
I love mapo tofu especially my wife's Southern Taiwan rendition of it. Of course I ramp it up with additional chili oil and Sichuan pepper!
Chinese foods taste so good because of food enhancers and greasy
What is that first fish he ate
Mark, you were in Taiwan…there is no such thing as Chinese food. Lol!
Mapo Tofu in Angel Beats
Hay mark thank you for your Taiwan Taipei blog. We got around there ok… more power to you and you family.
I also love Mapo Tofu, its so tasty and spicy and soft and fragrant. A simple dish, but definitely one of my favorite Sichuan dishes.
I like ur all videos. It's make me hungry..all foods looks yummy..
It is awesome the foods you both eat around the world make me very hungry always look so good you enjoy your foods every time. Very good to see some one like you then other will pull their faces before they try very good video thank you for sharing,
That tofu looks tempting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you Mark Wiens for eat.
Your facial expressions especially your eyes us so scary & exaggerated that it's put me off watching.
Gosh I love Taiwanese food ! great video.
that's sichuan peppercorn on top of that tofu
Taiwan is food heaven … even the ordinary restaurants serve up amazingly delicious food
The first dish you tried wasn't chicken. It's actually steamed pork ribs. The meat is usually covered with some kind of rice flour and placed on top of either potatoes or yams. They steam it for a very long time, so the pork and potatoes melt right away in your mouth. One of my favorites!
its sad to see most of your taiwan videos have less views than videos of other country. people always underestimate taiwan from every aspect.
I eat ma po tofu at the local Chinese restaurants here in Charlotte. that looks way above quality than anything I've ever eaten. thank you for ordering and sharing!
I LOVE watching Mark'ss reaction to food that is not only antisapated through sight but all his scenses kicks in I always know when "it's good" or "it's o.k." or "this is a massive experience"…Mark, u make me so happy when you've reached your…HAPPY BOY place…I enjoy ur blogs and I will share as well…
i love your VDO realy!
thank you mark!
Super love your Taiwan food trip! I'm planning to go there again soon. So happy I found your site! 🙂
that looks bomb.
Mark, is there anything you don't like????? I've watched many of your videos and every food sample seem so delicious to you. There has got to be something that doesn't taste that good.
