  1. Rain falls at a velocity of around 10m/s. Assuming that the wire is 1mm thick, it would need to go through the rain 10000 times every second in order to slice through all 10 meters of the fall. That is an RPM of 600000. That is faster than a jet engine. About as fast as a dental drill.
