4. So handsome. Is he having surgery soon? It would be educational to teach the public about cleft palates.
   For human babies, the cleft lip is fixed first. Parents are able to see their babies as “normal” n not deformed.
   Surgical intervention to close the cleft palate n decrease chances of upper respiratory infections and sinus/nasal discharge. Feedings are usually done with a oral feeding tube until the gap can be fixed.
