Interesting take, haven't seen anyone really talking from this framing. The world may be being punished for being so stunningly moronic
We could give examples on how other smaller animals can't possibly understand complex topics like philosophy or science, and compare those animals to us and those ideas as God's but realistically, we're not gods, we can't compare ourselves to the one almighty because we aren't almighty even if we think we are. Humans will never understand God and can never explain God's actions no matter how much we study religion, God isn't another human with great powers, we can't challenge God because we can't comprehend God. Many imagine God as a wise old man but that is just the human mind trying its best to make an image out of nothing, we know God isn't a literal wise old man yet we imagine he looks like one, that proves that people literally see God as a man and compare themselves to him, only that man is both omnipotent and omniscient, and they're challenging that man and his morals, not God himself.
In conclusion, we can't say "*blank* is a punishment/blessing from God," that's just not for us to decide, we know what is a sin and what is not and we could make ideas based off of that but nothing definitive.

These ever increasing calamities are absolutely a result of our sin. It says in the Bible that the wages of sin is death. Never does it say the wages of your sin is your death. The greed of oligarcs and company ceo's like those who work for company's like Philip Morris sell products they know kill and tear families apart. Yet, they still do it, in order to fill their insatiable greed. The wages of there sin is the death of others. IDK, just a thought.
