as a person who is terrified of crowd and being stared at, seeing these huge crowds of people staring at somebody who is clearly in distress, sick or even dying makes me feel so anxious.

Having anxiety myself, the thought of nearly drowning would send me into an anxiety attack, which sounds like an asthma attack. And with all those idiots trying to be on camera while she's laying there, I have no doubt that she was suffering from some sort of anxiety attack on top of nearly drowning.
That ring of death is one of the biggest i've seen.
