  1. Heartbreaking how some people can be so callous to animals. Whoever left them out by the dumpster should be charged with animal cruelty. Shouldn't be too hard to ID them, given that the former owners placed the animals with them just 2 weeks ago?

  2. Why are Craigslist allowing people to sell animals?
    I thought they wouldn't do that. 🙁

So glad a fellow Animal Wonderer found them and saved the day! ❤❤❤

  3. Glad they are safe! Poor Dough looks so traumatized. The seed of kindness you helped nurture 8 years ago has blossomed wonderfully.

  4. 3 cheers from our 3 old male Guinea Pigs living happily outdoors. I hope that all of them survive the winter as they are 5 to 6 year old. We got them from a sanctuary too.

  5. Its so frustrating that this happens, there are so many places and people that will take unwanted pets and even here in the UK when we were in lock down all the rescue places managed to keep going, I'm sure it was the same in the US. Plus there are always independent specialists for most types of pets who specifically take and rehome all types of animals, a quick search online is all it takes. Guinea pigs are such great pets and these two are adorable and seem very tame too so they must have been well cared for at some point.

  6. We found our first guinea pig in an old pet store cage on the side of the road near our house early one morning about 4 years ago. He is such a love bug and we're so happy to have him and our 3 other guinea pigs!

  7. I did a very similar thing last month for two pigs who were being kicked and strangled by their owner and were about to be met with the same fate. So glad they found you!
(I was not able to keep my two, but with some help found a very loving home where they are currently pampered)

  8. I'm SO happy they're O.k.! I saw this video in my YouTube feed, Oh, I can't bare the thought that these precious animals would freeze!! I actually pray every night that animals who are in harms way would be found and cared for! I have 5 piggies, I just lost my boar Patches, he passed from pneumonia, and it was way too sudden! He was getting better, I have a great exotic vet, and an emergency one too, but after a course of antibiotics, he was O.k. for a few days, then went downhill quickly after that. Seeing these piggies warm and fed is such a great thing! Thank you for helping!

  9. One year my dad and cousin were out deer hunting and when they were headed back to my dad’s truck after not catching anything, they found a puppy up under the front of the truck. Where they were at was coyote county so that puppy would have not survived if my dad and cousin had not been there. Rescuing animals can happen anytime anywhere. Hope Cookie and Dough are healthy to be able to find their forever home.

  10. Whoever adopted them off of Craigslist probably didn't realize how big they'd be/how much room they'd need…since most of the guinea pigs you see in pet stores are babies/juveniles…That's still no excuse for just abandoning them, though. 🙁 I've never had any GPs, always used to think they were too jumpy when I'd see them in pet stores, but I've since heard they calm down once they get to know you. Either way, I don't have the room for them right now anyway, and at least I knew that before even thinking about getting one, heh.

  11. My dog's name is Cookie Dough! She's also a rescue, and, as far as I know, her rescuers were the ones who named her.
Also, I teared up when I heard that the Guinea pigs' rescuer had had a visit from you eight years ago. The animal education continues to save lives!

  12. you not only are taking care of them directly, but you also taught a new generation of animal lovers what's the right thing to do, thats a job well done

  13. All I can say is, thank you for helping those babies, I've loved animals all my life and I've had Guinea Pigs for just over 7 years. They are smelly loving potatoes ♥. You've said everything I would say, but thank you.

  14. Man. I was homeless for a year and a half and STILL kept my cats. When I finally realized I wasn't going to be able to keep them in the car with me anymore, I gave them to a cousin. Six years later, that STILL kills me. The idea of just leaving two defenseless animals to die is utterly alien to me. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

  15. Even in the short time they were on camera – and I know that there are edits in this so this wasn't really just fifteen minutes, probably more like nearly an hour – but still! After the upsetting time they've surely had, to be able to relax because of the things you provided…. wonderful. I'm not very familiar with guinea pigs but they have enough similarities to rats that it seems obvious to me these two little ones are VERY relieved to be warm and safe and given positive attention. Not to mention PUMPKIN!
    A wonderful little rescue story!

  16. Because i read quite many comments that say they only have one guinea pig: these animals are very social and should allways be held in groups of at least two, better three and more. And their companion has to be a guinea pig, not a rabbit or anything else. Think of it as if you'd have to live your whole life alone, without anyone you can communicate with.
Even if you have the feeling that your guinea pig is very close to you, you can never be the same for it as another guinea pig would be. Please, do your little friend a favor and get it a buddy. Or give it to someone who is able to keep more than one. I know this sounds harsh, but in the end, we want the best for our little furry friends, don't we?

  17. I'm so very glad that this gentleman found these two little pigs. They've got fighting chance now whether they stay at AWM or go on to another home. Thank You All ☺️
