Every day millions of people try their hand at lottery tickets and slot machines, just hoping for a lucky break. However, a select few find themselves face to face with unparalleled strokes of luck that are worth far more than a few million dollars. Today, we are looking at some of the luckiest people who cheated death while being literally on edge! Stick around until the end to see the guys who was almost hit by a meteorite!
Number 10. The Nearly Headless Pilot
Racing has always been a dangerous sport. From horse to car racing, things might go wrong within a split second. Even with that, many adrenaline junky won’t stop clamoring it. This video shows a pilot and his friends who got themselves into an aircraft racing competition one fateful Sunday. Everything was going fine. And they were about to begin when he figured he had an engine problem. You can see as he signaled for help.
But it seemed that the flagman couldn’t get a hold of his complaint. Just when he was about to stand up for recognition, another plane came with a loud dash only a few inches away from his head. You can feel the “almost-crimson” impact of the crash even from the clip as his plane made a clockwise turn. Had he been an inch or two higher, that would be an end of the story for him with his skull rolling on the ground. Though, he was scared to death. He was just seconds away from becoming a nearly headless nick!

Number 9. On the Wrong Side of the Tracks
There’s a reason why subway stations have those yellow tiles next to the train tracks. When you see yourself standing in yellow, it only means one thing; you’re standing too close to the tracks. This guy waiting for a train at the Bay Area Rapid Transit station in the Oakland Coliseum either didn’t care about the safety measures, or he just didn’t see where he was standing because he fell right on the tracks. The problem was, there was a train coming. But lucky for him, a BART employee was present who quickly pulled him away from certain death at just the right time. Honestly, if the BART employee was half a second slower, they would have had a disaster on their hands, not a harrowing close call.
Number 8. Now, That’s a Photographer
Next, we have the Amateur photographer Mekki Jaidi who was on vacation in the Caribbean Island of St. Barthelemy when he decided to head to a plane-spotting area famous for its nerve-wracking low. He saw a small aircraft approaching for a landing, and he decided to take a few photos. What he didn’t realize was that the plane was flying low, too low. So low, in fact, that the landing gears almost grazed the photographer’s head. But, like any professional photographer who just had a brush with death would do, he stood up straight when the plane flew by and took more photos. The whole thing was documented by another man who was testing his 360 camera and captured every hair-raising moment.
Number 7. The Meteorite
At the number 7 spot, we bring you a pretty rough day for an experienced parachuter. How rough? Well, he was almost hit by a meteorite! By all means, if a parachuter feels a rush, it must be something wild! In 2012, Anders Helstrup and several other Oslo Parachute Club members were enjoying a summer day, but not a regular one. They took off from Østre Æra Airport in Hedmark in a small plane to jump with wingsuits and parachutes. Helstrup had two cameras fixed to his helmet as well.
On the way down, he realized something odd happened. Immediately after landing, he checked the footage from the jump, which clearly showed what happened. A stone hurtled past Helstrup and missed him by only a few meters. Later that day, Helstrup returned to Oslo, without thinking about anything else but his strange experience. He decided to take some time off work, to return to the Rena area for a couple of days to look for the stone – but couldn’t find it.
Number 6. Roadside Shudder
There’s no such thing as over-consciousness. You can never be too careful while walking beside the road. We are sure that would be the advice of this 20-year-old man to all youths after he, fortunately, walked out of this “near-death” experience alive. Zak McCabe, the man in the video, was on his way to the gym when he almost got crushed by a car. Luckily for him, he was not on the grim reaper’s list that night. Otherwise, that’d have been the last thing he ever lived to do.
