  1. It's a bit of a depressing thought, though, that this was what it took for the issue of the Vikings stadium to get fixed. Keep in mind, there was talks since at LEAST 2002 to replace it, and at one point it was suggested the Vikings could've MOVED if the issue wasn't resolved.

Jesus, I hate to say it… but is this what it'll take for Tampa or Oakland to finally fix their stadium issues?

  2. Did he say 17 inches of snow over a 48 hour period? Here in Denver that is basically routine. Minnesota has colder extremes but here in colorado our climate in winter is more arctic

  3. They're all congratulating themselves for having solved the logistics. Surely its just an away game plan that needed to be implemented apart from booking hotels and meeting rooms at the last minute…

  4. Remember it like it was yesterday. Brett Favre was still playing, but he was seriously hurt and the streak was in serious jeopardy. Then a few weeks later the Bears laid that hit on Favre on that hard ass frozen turf in Minneapolis and it was over.

  5. If you build a stadium in an area prone to snow… why would you make the huge roof out of weak plastic? You can at the very least add warming pads across the roof to melt the snow as it touches the roof. I mean who thought of this design?

I still can't believe this happened, Vikings played in a temporary college field, then got a new bad ass stadium… MEANWHILE CHARGERS COULDN'T WORK OUT A DEAL WITH CITY OF SAN DIEGO BECAUSE OF CHEAPSKATE SPANOS.

  6. This is so boring. There's no story here. It'd be interesting if they just explained what they did, but they do the individual interviews like there's some sort of emotion to be found (with music to boot?). There is no emotion in logistics, and it seriously can't be that difficult to figure out how to relocate a sports game. They may as well had interns handle the entire thing and put that into a documentary. "Just box up everything like we do for normal away games. Bring purple paint and non-American vehicles if necessary. Detroit sucks."

  7. Was that state of the art in 1982
Let's build a stadium in a frigid rust belt city that depends on man power being willing to brave the elements (of a below zero blizzard)
    And spray a fire hose
    To keep the roof raised

  8. And the new stadiums are funded by tax payer money. What a scam. Players making millions along with the owners yet they won't fund their own damn stadium.
