The typhoon has cost ample lives and damaged food and water supply as well as power and telecom infrastructure. This was one of the strongest typhoons ever hitting the Visayas, including Negros Oriental.

Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast. “The earth mourneth and fadeth away,” “the haughty people … do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.”
Isaiah 24:4, 5.

I hope that in order to greatly reduce death and missing Filipinos to be hit by a typhoon, weather advisory must be provided in a more advance and accurate way. The initial warning and prediction by PAGASA to areas to be affected by typhoon Odette passing their islands was only above 100 kph strong typhoon. A few kph above a hundred kph strong typhoon was not as scary for resident as per experience. Many residents who experienced the typhoon felt above 250 kph hit them with super high precipitation rate or super heavy rain. It is very sad that concerned govt bureaus cannot be relied upon by Filipinos. More of reactive than proactive. Highlighting now the effects rather than preventing the effects of this super typhoon!
Im in philippines and this happened to me. Dont worry nothing broke in our house.
