Notice how the one boat that took the main hit was also the only one that was facing inwards towards the rock formation, while all the other boats were facing away and thus could quickly power it out of there in case of an emergency, like for example a major rock fall? I don't know who was in control of that boat, but the person was either too inexperienced OR simply took the gamble, thinking something like this could never happen to them and thus decided to not take the simplest of preemptive safety measures and it unfortunately cost the captain and the ones aboard his / her boat their life.
