Short answer
1. The government body like national disaster management authority (NDMA)does the relief work for the victims of natural calamity. Non government organisations (NGOs) are also involved in helping people during a natural calamity.
2. An earthquake is a sudden tremor on the earth surface. It is caused by movement deep inside the earth.
3. A cyclone is a very strong wind accompanied by heavy rain . It is a violent storm.it is funnel shaped and stretches from the earth to the clouds above.
4. A calamity caused by nature is called a natural disaster. A natural disaster can occur anywhere.e.g of natural disaster are -landslide, Tsunami, floods, cyclone, earthquake etc.
Long answer
1. An earthquake is a sudden tremor on the earth surface. It is caused by movement deep inside the earth. Earthquake destroy houses buildings collapse tree falls and bridge collapse etc. The study of earthquake is called seismology. Instrument called seismograph record the shaking of the land. The intensity of an earthquake is measured from 1 to 10 on a richter scale.
Ans2. Flood generally occur due to rainfall , dam collapse or blocking of riversand. the sudden melting of snow on mountain during the summer season can also cause the flood.
There are two ways control flood are given below:
1. Trees should be planted as they prevent flood water from spreading fast.
2. Special dams can we bullet to check the flow of water.
Ans3. Drought is due to the shortage of water, mineral due to less rainfall. It has a bad effect on crop production. A large part of our country can be affected by drought. Farmer are most affected during the drought as they are unable to grow crops. This result in the shortage of food does leading to famine.
There are some measure to prevent a drought are.
*We must grow more trees.
*We should have to rainwater harvesting.
*Grow drought resistance crops and use water sprinkler for irrigation .
Ans4. Tsunami is a series of very high waves created by some disturbance under the sea such as underwater earthquake, volcanic eruptions or landslides. The waves in a Tsunami can range in height from 1 to 20 metres or more. Their speed are high so the attack coast in no time to cause big damage.

Ans5. cyclone is a very strong wind accompanied by heavy rain. The strong wind often causes high waves called tyndall waves in the sea. The states in India those are prone to cyclone are are Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat and Maharashtra for often hit by cyclone .
