In today’s episode, we’re exploring a long-abandoned building at a massive asylum somewhere in the South. The hospital opened in the late 1800s as one of the first psychiatric hospitals for African Americans.

I love the shot of that old ventilation fan set into the wall at 23:21. Seeing something still moving in such a long-abandoned place is so eerie.
I came just for the intro. There was a song playing during Desolation of Smaug that was super familiar but I couldn't remember what it reminded me of. It's Proper People.
Did anyone hear a little girl at 10:00 say something. Then another girl right after that. Then at 10:10 sounds like the same first girl repeat the exact same thing from 10:00
can't help but notice a ghoulish face peering from the top left at 4:06.
Really great even by PO standards. What state is this located in?
The Beneath the Planet of the Apes quote, the name at the bottom of that lines up with the name of a man who spent two years in a mental hospital ending in 1980 (he's been serving multiple life sentences since 1990 for rape). Crazy that it's still hanging there 42 years later.
these videos give the best vibes
the eerie feeling that your the only person in the building
The decay here was epic. Nice find, you two
great to see you guys back
its so sad there are so many people homeless and such and yet there are 100s of abandoned buildings that they could live it π
edit: there are also so many hospitals at capacity and yet again abandoned hospitals is a common thing
Was that a lobotomy room
Are there any abandoned native American residential schools in Canada
Holy shit itβs wheelchair cityππππ
At 25:22 of this video, even though you said that you were on the final floor of that particular building, I couldn't help but notice that, up in the ceiling, there was a hole that seemed to show yet another floor to this building…. or at least an attic space. Was there no other access stairs, or ladder to this space above you? Would have been interesting to see what was up there too, as there always seems to be something hiding up in those spaces, nestled away secretively in the shadows, so to speak?! π π
Love what U guys do! Thank you.
This is one of my favorite videos for sure. Good find guys

I'd really have to wear a face mask at least around all those flaking paint chips. Peeling paint=feeling faint π€’
What a huge place. I'm pumped for the next episode. πππ
Itβs been 2 years today, since The Proper People hit 1 million subscribers.

Not to dampen the mood, but yall are most likely breathing asbestos in these types of dilapidated buildings. That stuff was used everywhere back then.
It would be cool to do a night investigation with full spectrum cameras, EMF meters and recorders for EVP to see if you get anything. A place like that has to have some residual energy.
