A large tornado ripped through New Orleans and its suburbs on Tuesday, killing at least one person, destroying homes and knocking down power lines.

  1. I haven’t lived in the Greater New Orleans area (including Slidell) since mid-July 1977 but EVEN TODAY ANYTHING that happens there will ALWAYS get my attention as it did where my late parents were concerned.

  2. The main column of a tornado does less damage than the Multiple Vortexes that circle the main cone . Often those vortexes are not even visible unless flooded with debris .
