3. Sadly I know that feeling. I'm a 24 years old firefighter from Germany and last summer we where called to search for a nine years old girl who went missing at the beach in a nearby river. We where called at 12.27 on a Sunday and searched until 4 o'clock in the night. We didn't find her that night and continued to search until we found her on Monday morning. I was on the boat that found her and the moment I saw her body my heart just sunk. Even though I knew we wouldn't find her alive when she was in the water I continued to hope that she just got lost and would be found on land but sadly she drowned.

4. Joe Rogan makes a pretty solid point when it comes to humans in the ocean, were land dwelling mamels and we're still slower than 90% of other land animals so in the ocean we are completely useless.

I watched loads of episodes of this with my daughter a few years ago and we were always shocked at the stupidity of the Chinese people…They were told it was unsafe to go into the water and even though most of them can't swim.( God knows why) they would always end up being rescued…They always went where they weren't allowed to go and were never able to swim…This always shocked me and my daughter as it was mostly Chinese who needed rescuing
   Australian government need to do an advertising campaign on Chinese TV

   But kind of spiritual in a way too, left this world the same day he entered several years before

22. These lifeguards are so incredible. That beach seems to be very dangerous, maybe they need to have some kind of permanent structures added to the water to help them keep an eye on these crowds.

25. Why would you go in the ocean,if you can't swim? My mother couldn't swim and only got her ankles wet, maybe knee's.

26. The waves are big and so many people swimming I don’t know how they even keep track. The water there doesn’t seem friendly for anyone that doesn’t know how to swim. Sad for everyone involved.

28. I have a lot of family members and relatives who don't know how to swim, and yet they're the ones who are more adventurous and would not hesitate to reach the deepest they could. Good thing our waters here are tamer compared to australian beaches. I actually got to know about rip tides by watching videos like these. I doubt a lot of my people know about them even though we're a tropical country w/ a lot of beaches.

29. It really sucks when you hear about a new immigrant drowning when they come to a nation with a much larger aquatic recreation culture 😔

31. Why would you wait 1 or 2 hours to report a missing person, of course there probably in serious trouble !

32. Swimming safety matters, especially at the beach. And even more critically at a beach with such infamous rip tides. In my view, when in a crisis situation affecting one who is not a friend or relative, if I am not actively helping or finding someone who can help, I immediately leave the area. There is no need to seek entertainment in another’s tragedy. Sending love to everyone reading this & please stay safe at the beach! ♥️

35. If you don't know how to swim, don't go in the water. And if you like the water, learn to swim. I'm not gonna pretend it's hard to swim. Push down to go up, and up to go down. Literally just use the water as friction to pull yourself around lol
