   This will probably get my ass kicked, but anyways.

   Please notice that I'm still wondering about this (not important but still intriguing, entertaining and gendered) issue and haven't made up my mind yet. That's why I'm asking for your input.

   And mind you, my question is serious: How do you provide a dog with a genuine dog life?

   Based on my observations over the years (I'm 64 yo), I've started wondering if it's a trend that women prefer male dogs/cats and men prefer female dogs/cats.
   (Nothing s•xually implied, whatsoever, only sociology).

   Female dogs/cats are supposed to be easier to handle. But considering you can neuter a male dog/cat (if you absolutely have to 😬), what's the difference?

   Anyways, what I am wondering about is whether women prefer male dogs and men prefer female dogs (for whatever reason).

   THAT IS THE ACTUAL QUESTION I'M ASKING. 🤔 I'll repeat it below.

   I'm aware that ultra alpha high testosterone violent and maybe on steroids men want male dogs that are as psychopathic as they are themselves. But let's forget those for now.

   What do you think? Am I wrong? Please base your view on experience and not ideology. Thank you.

   I love dogs, especially these golden ones, and cats too if I weren't allergic to them. I don't have pets myself, which is purely out of respect for them.

   I grew up with dogs and loved them to death. But after reading a Swedish book ("My favorite sticks" by Frida – Oscar Hedlund) I decided I wasn't able to give dogs the life they deserved.

   Being pack animals, roaming the land, swimming or drowning in the lake, sleeping in a silly bunch on top of each other. That's the perfect dog life – and my main point.

   Once I asked my sister, who at that time had a male dog: "Can you have a dog without having a bad conscience?" And she shook her head. Not long after she found a new home for her dog and bought two (male) cats.

   Believe me, all this is true, but it's also just anecdotal.

   This is probably a 1st world issue, so please state your country of origin if you don't mind. Thx.

   I've posted this a few different places since I'm curious and I don't expect a lot of serious answers. Hope I'm wrong. 🙂🐺
