10. The bright spot in the story, as sad as it is, is that he only killed himself. I’m glad he and the police didn’t have a shoot out in front of his family. What a shitty, terrible day for that family.

    Cops were messing with the guy for weeks probably. Making him think his family is in danger? For two, you see one, you see Three.

23. Notice how the news uses certain words to control your emotions and mind. “The man violated a restraining order” instead of “the father/husband violated a restraining order”. The news wanted you to not feel bad for this white father getting shot. Now if it were a black man we probably wouldn’t even hear about it because the news doesn’t want to give blacks a bad reputation.

44. So super surprisingly, no cops were injured in the making of this video. “Police say” he killed himself. No sight of the gunman even on cam. I’d like to see the full footage. Police need more open investigations against them. They’ve freely killed and maimed civilians for far too long. Police should NOT have lethal weapons, only non lethal. Stop militarizing our streets. Marine Iraq infantry veteran. Change my mind that cops are thugs, please. Feels like terrorism every time I’ve ever been pulled over and/or accosted.

45. I gotta say that is some really commendable police work. Finding the ladder and getting the people they could out safely while constantly trying to negotiate with the threatening party, they could have easily gone the "flashbang and raid" route but they thought carefully and compassionately and I have no doubt that lives were saved as a result.

47. Not saying the guy was right in what he was doing but I feel we’re not seeing full picture. Who was the restraining order against, was it the mom? Was this a split family, did the ex wife say no more seeing your kids? This guy probably just wants to see his kids and is being told no which is sad.

    The other part to this is who knows if he has issues and that’s why he couldn’t see his kids (RO)? I’m not saying his actions were ok but I feel we’re not getting the full picture so all I can say is it’s sad he killed himself rather than getting help.
